Meet the Team
Melinda and Jena have worked closely together for more than a decade. With deep roots in health-care settings and advanced training in counselling, both completed their Master of Social Work degrees and discovered a shared philosophy of providing care grounded in making authentic connections.
Together, they envision a counselling practice centered on attentive, compassionate listening—one where every client feels seen, understood, and supported. Through this approach, they strive to empower individuals to navigate life’s challenges, cultivate emotional balance, and foster meaningful personal growth.
Therapeutic Approaches
Our counselling practice is guided by evidence-based therapeutic approaches. We tailor each intervention to the unique needs of our clients, fostering growth, resilience, and meaningful change.

Emotion Focused Therapy
Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps individuals, couples, and families understand and transform emotional responses to strengthen attachment bonds. It focuses on identifying negative interaction patterns and fostering secure, emotionally responsive connections.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a trauma-focused, evidence-based therapy that uses guided imagery and eye movements to help individuals reprocess distressing memories. It aims to reduce emotional and physical reactions while allowing clients to retain control over their memories.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
Solution-Focused Therapy is a brief, goal-oriented approach that emphasizes clients’ strengths and resources to build practical solutions rather than analyzing problems. It focuses on identifying what is already working and using small, achievable steps to create positive change.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals regulate emotions, tolerate distress, and improve relationships through mindfulness and skills training. It is commonly used to treat intense emotional dysregulation and self-destructive behaviors.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that influence emotions. It focuses on developing practical coping strategies to improve mood and functioning.

Arts-Based Methods
Arts-based methods use creative processes such as drawing or writing to help individuals express emotions and explore experiences that may be difficult to put into words. These approaches support insight, emotional regulation, and healing through creative engagement.
